What do you think, is it fun for you to watch the absolute Top of Chessplayers play, while having an ELO around 800? Are you watching the big matches and big tournaments?

    I’ll be honest as a lower ELO player, I don’t really understand what’s going on all the time at least strategy-wise. I like watching a restreamer or something with commentary who can outline what attacks are going on.

    Without a commenting life stream I would not get much out of it. I do, however, try to analyze historical matches with the help of books.

    It can be fun to watch. People watch professional sports everyday. It won’t necessarily make you a better chess player. Especially at 800 ELO if you try to break down every move they make and understand why they made it it’ll help more than just watching.
