Political cults are alive and well. We need to identify what they are and know their history so that we can avoid the pitfalls of cults and cult-like behaviour.
Political cults that purport to be left-wing seem like such a minor thing to worry about. The LaRouchite & PatSoc & Infrared cults have never grown to any significance.

China has a full high speed rail network covering an entire billion+ country, has a surplus of housing, rent is 70% lower in Shenzen, a city 3x larger than London and can provide healthcare to every person inside of it.
I define it by comparision, why can a ‘cult’ provide more than other countries of similar sizes? (India, America)
