It took a long time to get to the thesis. Its true, there was not much added to the over all conversation, which made it hard to form a response. And it feels like she is demonstrating there is a problem and attacking a possible solution, without having one thats better. Sure if all of society was different we could solve the issue, but the question is how. Men and women are treated differently and those who do not conform differently still. Positive role models that epitomize traditional male goals and standards are not bad as long as it comes with understanding for those who do not walk the same path.

My progress was saved from when I last tried watching the video last year. I stopped at the men’s retreat; you’re right it was punching down.

Their focus on media figures is all wrong, men aren’t looking for the liberal version Andrew Tate. Men are looking for companionship to combat loneliness and are willing tolerate bullshit like Tate to find it.

That men’s retreat looks exactly like that.

I think the issue is when that companionship is centered around explicitly engaging in masculine aesthetics. Particularly as most mens ability to find companionship is already very much centered around their ability or willingness to perform that masculine role.

I agree, but companionship isn’t happening around anything.

It isn’t just men either, all trust in relationships between people or institutions has declined and shows no recovery.
