The game aged beautifully. The challenge and labyrinthine mapping made for an amazing adventure. I have to say, it really trains the reflexes for shooters, surprisingly.

    You could try custom wads now, there so much good content for Doom.

      I’m gonna have to. I’ve heard of some crazy wads that just came out recently on doomworld that I gotta take for a spin

        Yeah, MyHouse.wad is one of the best experience I’ve had on a Doom mod.

            Yeah, remember to set render mode to hardware accelerated in the display options, not the software ones.

    I’ve never beaten it either tbh, playing thru Eternal rn for like the 6th time. I’m prob going to go thru the whole series soon tho

      Definitely worth it. The classics have aged surprisingly well.

    When I’m at a loss for something relaxing to play I reach for doom. I’ve enjoyed them all over the years but felt turned off by eternal for some reason

      Honestly all of Episode 4 was fantastic levels of chaos. It was such a drastic jump in difficulty, but it was so fun!
