Hey, I installed the latest build (15) and tried to login to my account on feddit.de. But somehow it always shows that my credentials aren’t valid…which isn’t the case because I’m using a password manager and double checked by logging in to the browser.

But if you request an account right now, I am here to approve it ;)

no, thank you for developing a lemmy app
maybe you didn’t put @feddit.de after your username? Or the other way around, that you shouldn’t put your user name but select the server in another way?
Hm no this doesn’t work either unfortunately. Think it’s a bug in the app?
It only shows you should enter the username and password, which I did.Putting @feddit.de together with the username doesn’t work either and would be „against“ the suggestion in the field I guess.
ok I have no idea. We can try tagging @lFenix@lemmy.ml and see if they reply :)

Of course. Did a Screen Recording and uploaded it to my Synology NAS. Link is valid for one day. Recorded trying to add the account using the credentials of my login manager as well as logging in with those credentials via the browser. Well it worked but the error was {“error”: “Unknown”}
BUT I figured it out! Your app wasn’t able to handle special chars in my password. I changed my password to something without special chars and now it works!
Specifically I had the special chars { [ @ } < . and # in my password. So somewhere here is the issue and some kind of character here is breaking your password field or your API request. Maybe some escape you’re doing?

Make sure there are no trailing spaces
