A group of survivors of Nazi death camps will mark the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp during World War II in a modest ceremony in southern Poland
Yes I’m terrible because I don’t find an almost 80 year old event newsworthy compared to genocide occurring today.
I can only hope you feel that strongly about the Palestians being genocided that your government is throwing under the bus to support Israel for.
Last month was the 86th Anniversary of the Beijing massacre, one part of a genocide against millions of Chinese. You had an anniversary event to commemorate them, right? Or are you a terrible person and a massive hypocrite?
There’s no need to downplay the significance of past genocides just because of present-day genocides. Remembering the past is important: it’s no coincidence that fascism is on the rise again just when most of the people who remember living through it in Europe are gone. Remembering is necessary if we are to learn from the past, but it doesn’t guarantee we will, as Israel’s actions today show.
What is stopping you from remembering or orginazing a ceremony?
Orginaze one or participate in a ceremony of your choice. Don’t be bitter because people remember this specific holocaust. It is important.
If remembering is so important to you, why aren’t you also remembering them?
If you’re talking to me, where do you get the idea that I’m not remembering that? Plenty of people make a big noise about it every year. But it feels like you’re trying to change the subject.

Im not downplaying it anymore than you are when you don’t make news of the anniversary of the Beijing massacre.
If remembering is so important to you, why aren’t you also remembering them?
What im doing is exactly the same as you do to every other genocide from the past.

Im not bitter, I just don’t care the same as you don’t care about that one.

So you’re telling me every year on December 13th you celebrate the victims of genocide in China?
Bullshit you do.
