It also, for the past few weeks, now has a “report problem” banner at the start of every video. Might look at an alternative. For desktop, Firefox + ublock origin has yet to have me see a single ad.

Newpipe has been working very well for me… for now.
Been using it for years without issue. Get the version with Sponsorblock, it’s worth it
