I tried contacting KITU, FITE and AIITEU, with the intention of understanding how unions work, the process of registering for one, how they help with collective bargaining, helping other members with finding jobs openings, and what where their previous cases of victories, from an Indian perspective.
Except that these folks are worse than HRs ghosting your application. Haven’t gotten a single response from either one of them. Totally disheartened by this.
I looked up the IWW branches on the assumption that it’s truly international, but it appears to only be in Europe and the Anglosphere https://www.iww.org/directory/gmb/ Or maybe it’s that General Membership Branches—being distinct from IWW industrial unions—are only in those areas 🤷
