The bearing isn’t seating properly because of mineral deposits from your hard water. Let the ball bearing and tip bathe in vinegar for an hour (watch the little bubbles, that’s how you know it’s working), then scrub it with a pipe cleaner. Good as new. Also, use purified water from now on instead of tap water.
