The Golgo 13 anime originally aired in 1971 on TBS. The anime used scale animation – a technique in which colors were added to the drama by hand and then shot on film. Though different from contemporary advanced animation technology, BS-TBS believes the animation style fully brings to life the creator Takao Saito’s vision, stating, “It will revive a world view that is close to a dramatic painting, and you will be able to feel the breath of the creator Takao Saito, who was in his 30s at the time, immediately after the start of the serialization.”
