The family of a Lakota man from South Dakota is demanding answers after his waist-length hair was cut without consent while he was receiving care at CU Anschutz.
Plus, hair is a known source of infections. It is routine to shave hairs in hospitals, as a preventive measure.

If this was a Sikh man the hair likely would have remained because religious reasons. The moment the guy’s indigenous and they no longer care about those same reasons

Yeah in this case that’s just wrong. Medicine is science, and science is independent of religion. So that really shouldn’t be the case…
