So I have a Chuwi Hi9Air (is a tablet) and I wanted to put LineageOS on it but I have some questions.

  1. I found this guide but it’s 2 years old that makes me install Android 10. I know that the current LineageOS GSI is Android 13, so which one should I install?

  2. If I should install Android 13, here, on the list of Android GSI there are 2 GSI versions (“LineageOS TD-based” and “LineageOS"Light”" ), which one should I install?

Preface: I’ve never heard of that device AND I personally wouldn’t trust unofficial builds.

That said, since I was looking for that device on the official LOS supported devices list, and since I couldn’t find it, I clicked on the link in that guide “Lineage OS 17 ROM…” and that brought me to SourceForge where, in a big green button, it says “download latest: Lineage OS 20…” which is Android 13. Wouldn’t that solve everything? The only remaining issue is that gAPPS aren’t updated (link brings to a page where the latest gAPPS you can download are for Android 11.0)

Yes, some apps (like banking ones) require some Google dependecies you can only get by installing gAPPS. Depending on your use-case, you actually can skip them, if you don’t need them (for whatever reason): just avoid flashing the package and you’ll get a LineageOS completely devoid of Google.

Choose carefully, as you can’t flash them later without doing a data format (which means losing everything you have on your phone, except for media such as music and photos, maybe, I haven’t flashed in a long time, so I could be wrong. Check an official LineageOS install guide for whatever other device, steps are almost always the same)
