Rule number two, be really careful believing anything about North Korea in general, positive or negative. For example, a large number of North Korean defector stories have fallen apart under scrutiny, as reported by The Guardian. Then you have media outlets like Radio Free Asia making up stories wholesale, like the Kim Jong Un haircut story which turned out to be totally fabricated but still caught on like wildfire. Or the unicorn story, which also turned out to be complete bullshit.

I’m looking at world bank data that says 7.9? Wikipedia says 22, google search says 15, but none of them claim higher than India at 32. Not even estimates can give good results, but there is a distinct reduction in all sources from 121(!!!) from their 1996 famine.

But believe US propaganda outlets? How can “nothing ever come out of NK, it’s so closed off” but at the same time “NK is nuts if you cut your hair you are kill”?

edit: just to make it clear, I don’t believe the numbers NK publicises to the world. They have every reason to not be honest about their numbers, to an Imperial world that wishes to have it annihilated.

Idk what you’re arguing, since you state that you don’t believe the numbers coming from NK. I said don’t believe them, you said you don’t, yet you still seem to have a disagreement.

I’m arguing that if you’re not gonna believe these numbers, don’t believe any other number either. Like that they are all starving, they all go to jail etc.

Those other “numbers”, which are actually statements, not numbers, come from NK escapees and detractors. We have no reason not to believe them. They’ve been corroborated multiple times.

That’s not true at all. Detractors have everything to gain by lying. They become 5 minute celebrities and often have careers paid out by CIA-fronts like Radia Free Asia. You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about, except from seeing that absurd clown on John Rogan or something. Forgot her name. Lol
