Femicide is the most extreme form of gender-based violence: the killing of a woman because of her gender. Globally, 137 women and girls are killed by a family member or intimate partner every single day. The result is more than 50,000 femicides each year. From November 25th to December 10th, 2021, the 16 Days of Activism campaign focuses on femicide.
The percentage of young men who think gender-related violence is not real has doubled in the last four years, it’s over 20% now. Plus a similar share believe feminism is detrimental to society.
