The things that need to happen before a human being gets to this stage must be mental. Like, there are zero likes on his picture while it also states a specific date, which implies it should be pretty old. Yet, no one likes his picture. Even the most mundane and boring things usually get likes or something.

This picture screams peak loneliness to me and I feel sad because of it. Sure, being lonely does not mean you should automatically become a looney that makes a sex doll out of material that will burn your dick off, but we must not forget that loneliness itself can be traumatizing. And trauma can make you do weird shit, like this. I hope he finds the help that he needs.

I’ve seen the same things happen to extremely lonely or neglected children, where they make friends out of inanimate objects. Fantasy friends aren’t a bad thing but to call, for example, a toothpick with a face drawn on it your actual friend for months is a sign of deeper issues.

    • i think people also underestimate how badly long term isolation screws up your brain even outside of like, the weird ideological/mental consequences. our brains are what they are because they’re designed for complex social interactions. frequent face to face interaction with other people is a required input for our neurochemistry to function properly just like food or water is.

i’ve been more or less a shut-in since i was a teenager and the amount of cognitive decline and weird neurotic shit i can observe in myself over time is staggering. long-term serotonin and dopamine shortages reshape your brain in some very unpleasant ways. i have a knack for self-observation so i can recognize a lot of this stuff in myself and try to regulate it but i fear if i had never developed that skill i would be completely off the deep end.

Yeah it does seem tragic despite also being nightmare fuel. “This one can never run away 😜” leaves me with a shiver though.
