    because heroku is a giant single point of failure and their free plan was always just a predatory penetration pricing play

      yeah but them shutting down doesn’t solve any of that and as long as you’re fully aware of the risks of using a centralized service it’s completely fine

        them shutting down their free plan exactly solves the problem of that particular predatory tactic enticing people to use their service.

        it means that in the future less websites i visit will be hosted there. imo that is good news!
