Vance will be the actual guy doing the work, and he in turn will get his orders from Thiel, Musk and Putin (and other billionaires that buy themselves into the inner circle).
But the argument isn’t that the writers weren’t serious, the argument is that they won’t be able to do it because Trump isn’t on board with it.
