    i hope that china recognizes how much of a lynch pin mexico is for latin america and how much control the united states has over it; as well as the lengths they’ll go through to keep that control.

    both mexico and brazil fully playing ball with china would be a watershed moment in the future hegemonic posture of the entire americas; so it makes me pessimistic that it’ll happen.

        i think that’s more of a case of the mexicans learning how to become more slippery inside of the american’s iron grip and china would do well help with a little bit of oil or lube if they’re really interested in the long game, because a short game will destabilize mexico (and eventually the rest of latin america) due that iron grip; americans feel like they “own” mexico in some of the same ways that russians feel like they “own” ukraine and will likewise fight tooth-and-nail if the americans are not distracted enough by something else.
