Just as the United States is prioritizing the development of its semiconductor industry, its export controls on China may undercut its innovation agenda.
The export controls and the chips act were heavily and very publicly flawed and I have difficulty accepting that the Biden administration and the Congress couldn’t afford worthwhile advisors.
So either the advisors were rotten to the core or our gov’t didn’t really give a damn.
Seems to be the trend with a lot of geopolitical decisions Biden admin has taken. Lots of people have vocally and publicly explained how these policies would backfire, and were summarily ignored.
