    I think it’s because Federal Express the company has services which includes ground and express. Some trucks are marked FedEx ground so this is to mark that it’s the express service truck I guess.

      Furthermore, FedEx Express drivers are employed by FedEx. FedEx Ground drivers are all working for a bunch of contractors, similar to how Amazon runs their delivery service.

      This is correct. When I was working there in a warehouse, we were technically a FedEx SmartPost which dealed mainly with sprinter vans, but would help out for the ground freight and express. When I was leaving I think they were getting rid of SmartPost and rolling them into Ground or Express. Fedex Air is also it’s own thing.
