Maybe they were comparing the physical area? Which seems the most useless comparison…
Yeah, that’s all I can think of too, but they didn’t mention it anywhere in the article.
New SA battery storage project approved near Mount Gambier will be three times the size of ‘Tesla battery’
Pacific Green says the Limestone Coast Energy Park, which will have a capacity of 1,500 megawatt hours …
The latter battery, colloquially known as the “Tesla battery”, can store up to 193 megawatt hours (MWh) and was once the world’s biggest.
1500 / 193 = 7.77
So while that is ‘more than three’, why doesn’t it say ‘more than seven’? Am I missing something? When they say ‘size’ do they not mean capacity?
Chas was still doing the Planet Extra Podcast while he was on break 😆
I highly recommend it, if too much detail is never enough: https://planetamericapodcast.libsyn.com/
🤮 What a fucking embarrassment that we still officially have a monarchy.
Fucking Setka. As always, folks, power corrupts. Unions need to be under the control of an active and engaged rank and file base.
It’s a developing story, but at least two are dead - the shooter and an attendee.
Yeah, fair enough. I don’t have any first-hand experience, but advice I’ve heard is that if you can get just one other committed person on board, you’re halfway there.
If you’ve got a local Food Not Bombs group, that’s a good place to find people that are into cooperation. There’s other community groups around that might have people who are interested or that are willing to provide infrastructure of some kind - men’s sheds come to mind. Otherwise, it’s worth a try posting on local Facebook groups.
There’s probably a guide or blog written around getting something like this set up. I should have a dig around.
Without knowing about how things are set up in your local co-op, maybe you could investigate setting up a two-stream system of ‘budget’ and ‘organic’. Or you could just set up an entirely separate co-op.
Death, incapacitation, and unforced resignation don’t count 😆
Yeah, Chaos would be more bottom-right.
Craftworld Eldar are probably the best fit for the bottom-left, amongst the major factions.
Whey powder and aquafaba are also useful as substitutes.
There’s no place in the Labor caucus for someone who acts in accordance with their principles!
🎵 … is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo? 🎵
The Greens have always been against prohibition more broadly, but they can articulate their reasoning better than I can: https://greens.org.au/news/media-release/greens-secure-amendments-vaping-legislation-and-will-support-passage-through
Yeah, I don’t see why they shouldn’t be treated exactly like cigarettes.
From October that’ll pretty much be the case, except only purchasable at a pharmacy. I can’t see why they shouldn’t be sold at servos, etc., but I don’t think it’s a massive problem in terms of personal freedoms. It’ll give pharmacies a cash boost, and maybe even cause expansion of their opening hours in some cases, which could be helpful.
In any case, I think that the deal the Greens got is probably the best one Labor were ever going to give.
Here’s a good article of ‘panda diplomacy’ for anyone interested: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-12-09/what-is-china-panda-diplomacy/103185260
Nice to be noticed! Thanks for moderating ♥️
Shortly after, Mr Dreyfus spoke on the ABC’s Afternoon Briefing where he directed his anger about the issue towards the Greens leader.
“I think that the Greens political party and particularly the leader of the Greens political party have got something to answer for here in the way that they have been encouraging criminal damage of MPs electorate offices, encouraging really riotous behaviour, sometimes violent behaviour, that has been occurring outside electorate offices,” Mr Dreyfus said on the program.
Yeah, that does seem pretty defamatory. Maybe the meaning of ‘encourage’ could be weaseled about by the defence if it does go to court, but “they have been encouraging criminal damage” doesn’t seem very ambiguous. If he’d said ‘they have been encouraging protests resulting in criminal damage’ he might have more of a leg to stand on.
If you want scientists to be able to do science, they need support from admin staff doing admin.
About 65% felt the job cuts would impact CSIRO’s ability to put out good research and support Australian industries.
“Less support staff means more work for an already stretched research workforce,” one anonymised respondent wrote.
Yeah, that is very silly. The usual convention when you have a tie for a ranking is to skip the appropriate number of rankings afterwards. Probably deliberate so that more countries’ media picks up the story because their country has a high ranking.
Also, hats off to Henley & Partners for somehow convincing the media that a very straightforward ranking needs to be a brand-named ‘index’. They don’t even compile the data! They just take it from IATA.
