  • Traveller is so cool! Harder sci Fi RPGs are severely underrepresented in TTRPGs.

    I’m sure you’ve heard this before but it seems too relevant to not risk repeating. I wholeheartedly recommend ripping out the random tables, world building systems, and anything else you like from Stars without Number Revised. It’s og inspiration is Traveller and so most of its random systems, while partially intended to be system agnostic, will work really well. If nothing else the planet tables can be added to your current world building toolbox. I have done the reverse with Traveller stuff and had good luck in my SWN campaign, so maybe the other direction works too.

    I’ve always been interested in Traveller but never had a chance to play. Is progression really as gear based as people say it is? How do you manage the power level curve of a game in that case?
