I close my game for the cloud sync when I’m done with the session. I only put it to sleep during game running when I got interrupted during my play time to do something else.

Cloud sync doesn’t occur until the game close. I recalled that there was supposed to be seamless cloud sync or whatever that lets you pick up the game right off from your PC but that has never work for me on the games I play on Steam Deck and PC. So the good old cloud sync after closing the game will do for now.
