I thought it would be cool to have qr-code stickers that when scanned would be an ebook.

Sadly, they don’t hold enough data and I could not find any kind of compression that would help.

I know it could be linked to a server, but then it’s reliant on an internet connection and for the server to be active.

  • It’s because AI needs a not a ram. I think Apple did not expect or plan for ai which shows in the fact that only the latest pro phone can have Apple intelligence. It’s because that phone has enough ram.

Now they will boost ram across the board because Apple intelligence will not run well without it.

Depending on pricing, I may actually buy a MacBook in 2025.

I’ve wanted one since the m1, but I’ve held out until 16gb was the starting amount of ram.

It has to be 2 gens removed in my opinion. For example, ps4 is not but ps3 is.

Although now that most things have a pc port, gens are becoming a bit more blurred than before.

With that being said, I think ps2 and earlier were the best gens of gaming.

Online connectivity made gaming a bit worse overall with dlcs, patches and that sort of thing.

Video is tougher as it changes every few years. Once a new standard is out there is also a little lag before there is hardware decoding. Additionally the video codec and extension are different things. I’m going to talk about codecs as I think it’s more important than file type.

Hardware decoding is important especially for mobile devices and software decoding will run the processor and eat up your battery.

For video, right now, the technically best format I think is AV1. If I’m not mistaken it’s open source or at least doesn’t have royalties.

Images are kind of the same story, but browser support is the issue.

I think jpegxl is supported to be pretty great, but Google is trying to push their own standard which I believe is technically inferior in some ways. Because of that Google had support for jpegxl in chrome and then they removed it from chrome.
