Looks like searching for the URL instead of the ! formatted address works

In this case, I searched for https://lemmy.ca/c/programming and it showed up right away.

Even now, searching for !programming@lemmy.ca again doesn’t turn up the community, it just finds the post I made above referencing the community address.

Adding / Joining a remote community may not be working… but I also may be doing it wrong.

I’ve tried searching for !programming@lemmy.ca a few times and it never appears in the results. I’ve read in a few places that a simple search should be enough to fetch it, and a refresh may be needed before it appears.

I’ve tried searching a few times, refreshing, etc and it hasn’t appeared.

Is it possible its caught up in a moderation queue before it will appear?
