I really like the Rosewill cases. I have three L4500U’s in my rack right now and a 4th in storage for “just in case” lol.
I got them several years ago right as they were becoming really hard to find. Mine are the USB 2.0 version, but that’s not a big deal. They were around $100 back then, instead of the $200+ now. Sometimes they get some hate for being “cheap”, but for me they are perfect and I would much rather have one then some super micro chassis.
I see the biggest problem being you can’t expand or repair an array with a drive having that warning condition. You would have to disable WDDA to clear the error first.
If you have a Western digital drive with a 5-year warranty, I kind of like the idea of requesting an RMA for your drives when this warning pops up. I mean if they can’t even be used for their intended purpose in your array, I guess they are “bad” lol
