Habe letzte Woche das Good Omens Hörbuch von Terry Pratchett und Neil Gaiman gehört, und es hat mir super gefallen. Daraufhin direkt die erste Staffel der Serie angeguckt - sehr gut adaptiert, kann beides unabhängig voneinander sehr empfehlen

Ich habs mir immer so erklärt, dass wir die Wörter mit Gewalt aus ihrem Kontext rausziehen, wo sie fest drin stecken, um sie dann falsch zu übersetzen. Und um feststeckende Sachen irgendwo rauszuziehen nimmt man halt ne Zange, ergo Zangendeutsch. Kann aber genauso gut sein, dass ich mir das nur ausgedacht habe. Yeah, I imagine the amount of books by language depends on the library. Mine has 2k German and some Dutch and Ukrainian as well - didn’t vet those. I was able to download an .acsm file via Manage Loan -> Read with… -> Epub, but then you still need to deal with an acsm file - definitely not a real solution, just figured I’d mention it

For my local library, I noticed they have both Onleihe and Libby available - though with different selections, ymmv

Hab als evangelisches Minderheitskind in der Grundschule jahrelang katholischen Religionsunterricht mitmachen müssen, der vom örtlichen Kaplan unterrichtet wurde. In der Mittelstufe haben sie dann eine ehemalige Pastorin als Quereinsteigerin für uns gefunden.

Keinerlei Weltreligionsbildung, quasi Konfirmationsvorbereitung mit Siegel des Staates. Durfte es erst zur Oberstufe abwählen, weil es kein Alternativangebot gab.

Konfessionsunabhängigen Religionstheorie- und -kontextunterricht fände ich halbwegs sinnvoll und interessant - aber die Kirchen dürfen dabei keine Hand im Spiel haben

Ich finds, die richtig guten sind alle prä-DDR, halt alte Arbeiterbewegungslieder, die die DDR dann eben auch als Propaganda gut nutzen konnte

Mein Verständis wäre, dass cis und trans richtige Gegenteile sind, aber wenn jemand trans ist, muss es nicht “das andere” Geschlecht sein (m->f oder f->m), sondern kann auch nichtbinär sein. Hab aber wenig Ahnung wie intersex in dieses Bild passt, um ehrlich zu sein - hängt davon ab, wie die Gesellschaft sie vorher identifiziert, denke ich.

I guess the most canon-compliant way to make this idea work is that they were a cleric of a deity that died. That does happen in DnD settings sometimes and I would expect that would remove their access to divine magic. Of course I would expect that rules would let you substitute a different deity with similar domains, and there are definitely skills and feats you wouldn’t lose with your magic, but it would be an interesting backstory.
