While not the greatest games, I’ve found that the newer Star Wars Battlefront games have some of the best sound design in any game I’ve ever played. Especially the thermal imploder. Definitely a highlight of an otherwise alright game.

Strongbad emails were my jam back in the day. Trogdor still gets mentioned periodically with friends to this day. Truly timeless entertainment right there.
PhD in Geology. Now am a research scientist working in more general materials science/chemistry/gas adsorption. My thesis was on lunar petrology where I studied Apollo 16 samples. My current research is much less exciting. Haven’t touched a rock in ages and my geologist heart hurts from it haha
Also been enjoying Star Rail! I find the mechanics more my liking compared to Genshin. Are you looking forward to any of the upcoming characters? I’m saving up for Silver Wolf right now myself. I just like her look.
Oh man I played Inscryption last year and absolutely adored it! Just remember you’re supposed to lose several times throughout the game, but the payoff is worth it! The story is decent too, but I kinda found the acting in the cut scenes a bit cheesy. Definitely thought the first act was the strongest though.
Bouncing between a few games right now. Playing a couple of gacha games on my phone, Apex and Mortal Kombat 11 on Xbox, and getting into Age of Wonders 4 on the steam deck.
As I’m getting older, I’m finding it harder and harder to keep up with my gaming habits. Too many games and not enough time nowadays…
Currently playing FGO and Star Rail. Started FGO about 3.5 years ago and still keep up with it. One thing that I’ve realized since I’ve started is that these types of games are meant to be played over years, not days. So it’s easy to feel like you hit a wall in progression for your characters early on. Once I figured that out, it became a lot less annoying when I felt like I couldn’t upgrade characters to where I want them to be. Gacha itself is gambling, and like all things, can be fine in moderation. But as such it definitely preys on people susceptible to addiction and FOMO. Star Rail seems a bit better designed and paced so far than Genshin, and I find the turn based system more suited to my preferences.
After reaching soft pity I lost my 50/50 to Yanqing. I then had to scramble to come up with enough stellar jade and free tickets to pull more. Eventually got silver wolf after reaching hard pity. She didn’t want to come home, but by god I made it happen. Ended up getting Asta to e6 + an extra 3 useless copies. Overall I’m salty I depleted my entire funds, but I’m glad I have her. Her ability to make any team work is incredibly clutch.
