  • You’re absolutely right. Excel isn’t the issue, controllers aren’t the issue.

The controls and navigation were proverbial canaries in the coal mine to the bargain basement approach to design and materials purchasing for components that were under pressure.

Destructive Stress Testing, redundancies? “That stuff costs money. I know better than any ‘bloated’ established and experienced agency or company because I can save a dime”. That attitude is what killed them and doomed the entire venture from the beginning.

It’s damaging because it adds doubt to any kind of scientific consensus.

“They” don’t want you to know that vaccines are dangerous.

“They” are only pushing chemo for big pharma.

“They” don’t want to admit that this was where ancient civilizations had some global empire.

It’s the same kind of attitude of “fantastical claim you can believe if you just dismiss all the evidence that you don’t like”

And that is very damaging because it further erodes understanding of the scientific method.

  • What is my greatest weakness?

I’m aware of my own gaps in knowledge. I have a PHD but the more I ponder on what I learned and the program I was involved in the more I realize what I don’t know.

    My greatest strength?

My willingness to not give too much weight to what I know and focus on what I don’t know.

  • It’s designed to make sure that the contact point with the back plate is reinforced.

That’s the point you don’t want to have fatigue or stress during shipping, etc since it breaking off there when it’s plugged into your wall would be a pain.

I suspect it’s mainly there for the shipment from the cord manufacturer to the company that made the product and there’s little benefit in removing it on their end when they can then ship it, cover and all, to their end consumer.
