It was very highly anticipated, had a very successful Kickstarter, and he’s been very well reviewed.

The author has written several well reviewed fifth edition adventures.

Shorthand way to describe it I’ve seen is, modern rules, old school style.

I’m throwing this out there, because it has been described as an old-school variant of fifth edition.

It is so old school that you have to do three d6 down the line.

Also, there is a very interesting real Times Torch mechanic.

A lot of Osr games, put attention on things like scarcity and time this phone put a lot of attention on light.

I haven’t read it so I don’t know for sure but to me that sounds like possibly inspired by dark dungeons. Although I know that wasn’t the first game to have a very prominent darkness mechanic either.

Just wanted to throw this out here I never want anybody to change game systems. I just thought it might be interesting for people who hadn’t heard of it.

The first villain was an elegant vampire. The second building is a cross between Pennywise, Jeffrey Dahmer in the skin, some murderer from the first pathfinder adventure path.

I have! Its quite Fun. I actually really like the pitch black humor like how everyone is a mutant, and knows it ( that they are nothing. Everyone else’s ) including all members of the mutant hating society. Also, the fact that the hated communism had to be invented from old movies and propaganda film because this whole thing had nothing to do with the cold war is it all started because of an accident in the far future.

So game went great! I’m gonna go right up a session report and put it on the RPG community. We had to end early because of migraines, but we got a almost two hours in! And it was really fun.

That’s awesome! What are the things that I really like about the rpg scene days is that there’s literally something for everyone. I know a role-playing game about a family that runs a Chinese restaurant in the 30s that’s being attacked by demons. I know a game about the experience of minority Canadians in World War I. That’s a really really specific experience!

So I will say cairn is free so if you wanna check out the chassis you can look at it there’s a lot of cairn hacks, but they basically add details to make it fit the genre they want.

They all have only three statistics and auto hit. That’s right, under normal circumstances you do not roll to hit you just do damage. We deal and let is slightly different when you use artifact guns but it’s still mostly like that.

Do you have a favorite very specific niche system right now?

Because I’m a huge fan of Dungeons & Dragons, but sometimes I just like to do something weird.

100 percent! And I’d like to add that everybody forgets that the game master is the player too. Safety tools are for game masters as well.

So, if a player does something that is upsetting or triggering to you, you could use the x card.

I’m gonna bring up a non-sexual example. About 19 years ago I was game mastering an Eberron campaign.

I was actually adapting Monty cook the banewarrens.

Everything was going great. The players we’re having fun. I was having fun. And then the players captured in NPC and tortured her for information.

You see one of my players I just bought the real world book of vile darkness which had player facing towards your information, including the exact disease of checks when you do things like cut off the victims finger, or use the pear of lamentations.

I was deeply upset with this because I was immature and didn’t really know how to communicate my feelings I just went along.

It’s not just sex that needs consent. Anything upset anybody at the table? People should talk about it.
