Yes. Make sure that your router supports it and that you have set up a 6e broadcast.
Yes… but things like Lutris, Bottles and Heroic optimize and manage things for you.
SD doesn’t have the horsepower to run waydroid properly. Android on Linux sucks.
It’s not supported yet. This will be added to the Linux kernel in 2024. What you get on the SD is a SteamOS workaround via proton. HDR doesn’t even work on native Linux games on the SD or anywhere else.
There’s trade offs but for your use case you should go for the deck. Add a controller and a bluetooth kbm and you can also use it on your TV instead of the PS5. Now don’t go expecting the same performance - this is meant to be a handheld optimized for battery life with a gorgeous OLED screen (at 800p). But you will have the best of all worlds because now you have the best handheld, a console connected to your tv AND a full fledged desktop PC.
So if it’s the same game it will offer the same performance since there’s nothing in steam that juices performance that wouldn’t be available in wine / proton. So just make sure that you’re using the same proton version. So that might be it. So ok.
Git gud.
I have a thing where I only buy games that are more than a year old. I also listen to game podcasts from a year ago. I’m kind of living a year in the past in gaming but it is better than ever. Games are on sale for 30%-70% of the launch price, all DLC included (sometimes) and the broken parts are fixed.
