I grew up as a kid hanging out in the video rental place my mom managed in the 80s and early 90s. Used to love just staring at all the wild box art and reading the synopses on the back, just imagining what some of those crazier looking movies might be like.

I really appreciate the work you put in and dedication to posting these. I’m new here, but each of these posts takes me right back there, giggling at, admiring, and imaging what weird things might await in those boxes.

Just made me realize that partying shares a lot of slang with fighting. Throw down, bash, rage, rave. All pretty violent words. I love language.

Gotta give this movie props. The monsters as depicted on the poster, though wonderfully artistically embellished, actually appear in the film!

In my neck of the woods, “throwing down” means either to pay into something, or fighting.
