  • Adding to say it sounds like you watch golfsidekick and/or notascratchgolfer. Both are great channels and I also watch their vids, but swing changes are only something you should do when you’ve tried fixing it yourself. I don’t think that at 17hdcp they will be able to give you anything that will help in the long run. You can look at any tour pros swing and tell them tips that will not help them! Look at Scottie scheffler, no coach would be cool with his feet dancing like that on every drive. Some guys have a steep swing plane, others very shallow, etc.

  • There is a podcast called “sweet spot” and they have a 2 part episode called “swing your swing”. It basically breaks down the fact that you can swing a bunch of different ways and still end up with a functional shot. Tweaking your swing isn’t always necessary.

If you have a consistent miss, it’s almost better to try and correct it without swing changes first. Swing path and clubface angle are the two most important determining factors. And while a change in your swing might change those factors, if you don’t understand how they are changing it, you will be back to square 1 in no time. Your body is athletic, you can tell yourself to swing more in-to-out, and practicing that will be more helpful than thinking about keeping your right elbow in your ribs, etc.

If you don’t have a consistent miss, you’re all over the place, you just need more reps at the driving range. You have to be aware of where you’re getting ball contact. Chances are, since you’re looking to get swingtweaks, you have a pretty consistent swing, so if you’re not hitting the ball in the same area on your club, that’s what you need to work on. Try hitting the toe vs heel while warming up, it will help you find the middle. Stand an inch away, an inch closer, move the ball to the front/back of your stance, this will help you consistently find the ball with your club!
