  • By the time Biden dropped out, yes, she was really the only choice, logistically. I think at that point, 3 months ago, there was basically nothing the dems could have done to have won this. They could have made it closer, but any real shot at a candidate people liked, would have needed to have gotten spooled up a year ago, at minimum, two years ago ideally.

The DNC shares so much blame for overall strategy of the last decade+, but the decision for Biden to insist on aiming for a 2nd term the whole time, despite pressure, and only cave when the saw just how grim those final projections really were, is mostly his, personally.

  • Flour tends to not get crispy, starch is better.

In general, I’ll press the tofu, cube it, toss it in starch, pan fry with oil, then toss with salt+pepper or other seasonings, or top with a sauce. Most common sauce is something like:

dab of oil, briefly fry minced garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes

    1/4 cup lemon juice

    3 tbsp brown sugar

tbsp each of: soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil

finish with tbsp starch in 1/4 cup water

Sometimes add extra seasoning to sauce, like 5 spice

  • I have some resentment, personally. Not that there aren’t valid reasons for it, especially in our broken system, but I have a highly restricted diet (dozens of deadly food allergies), so I can’t eat out ever (due to cross contamination being a roll of the dice), and even most prepared foods I can’t have.

So I spend a lot of time and energy, cooking delicious, cheap, vegan meals for myself, despite having a blue-collar job. And it does bother me, seeing people who can eat ‘whatever’ just eating slop.

Even when I feel like shit, and eat ‘slop’, it’s generally a stir fry, something like rice, (frozen) veggies, and sauce, thrown in a pan for five minutes. I rationally understand the various reasons people might not have the energy or cooking skills for even that, but emotionally, it does bother me.

  • I genuinely hate the description of AI fucking up as ‘hallucinating’. AI doesn’t need more humanized than it already is. Just call it what it is; AI being wrong. Confidently, unfixable wrong. ‘AI hallucination’ was a term that was invented in the early 2000’s, by the techbros of two decades ago. And it sucks as a term.

I feel like the internet loves to shit on people with psychotic disorders, and its generally accepted, even among otherwise pretty progressive circles.

  • is is the case with most health issues, certain deficiencies can cause certain issues. But, outside of having a specific deficiency, its all placebo.

Will taking vitamin D and B12, magnesium, etc. cure your AuDHD? No.

Could taking them make you feel better in some ways, freeing up some spoons/mental space to better handle whatever issues in your life that requires energy and focus to deal with? Yes, its possible. Assuming you are deficient, which, minor to moderate deficiencies in those three aren’t uncommon.

  • That would literally kill me (well, probably actually just sent me to the hospital).

I thought, when I first went vegetarian (vegan now) years ago, that I wouldn’t need to specify ‘no fish’ when I ordered food labeled ‘vegetarian’. But Fish sauce or Oyster sauce has sent me to the hospital at least once.

I no don’t really eat out ever anymore, as I don’t feel like gambling on the 1% cross contamination chart (got several other allergies too), but its crazy to me that food labeled as vegetarian is allowed to have fish sauce in it.
