great additions!
In any event, Barrett’s Glacier Northwest opinion reads like it may be the product of a brokered compromise, where Sotomayor and Kagan agreed to sign on to an anti-union decision in order to prevent Thomas or Alito from assembling five votes for their more extreme positions.
interesting…
the US government can’t even hack iPhones here. how are they doing it Russia?
does anyone believe what these guys say anymore?
well, well, well… now the real motive for their insane API fees is revealed. sure, we knew it was obviously about money, but we didn’t know they were this desperate.
Content moderation at scale is impossible to do well. Importantly, this is not an argument that we should throw up our hands and do nothing. Nor is it an argument that companies can’t do better jobs within their own content moderation efforts. But I do think there’s a huge problem in that many people — including many politicians and journalists — seem to expect that these companies not only can, but should, strive for a level of content moderation that is simply impossible to reach.
anyone who has tried to moderate an online community of any scale can relate to this, especially when looking at the downfall of traditional social media sites like facebook and twitter.
…Denounces Oppression
“That’s oppression!”
– The oppressors
the list, for the lazy:
- The Trump Organization
- FTX
- Fox Corporation
- Meta
- Spirit Airlines
- TikTok
and that hate is well-earned by each and every one of these companies
oooooh… weird, because the setting makes it seem like if you select “Undetermined”, then some comments would disappear, which is why I selected “English”. I’ll try changing the setting.
hello, everyone!
like many, i’m a soon-to-be former redditor (as was a Digger before that). I’m a freelance designer living in Brooklyn, nyc. i like star trek, star wars, and most other sci-fi. I’m also an LGBTQ+ activist and have been fighting for LGBTQ+ equality for over 25 years. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈
Plus disappearing comments
i was wondering about this. i see posts with like 6 or so comments, but I only see 2 get loaded.
edit: problem solved. thx!
the things that AI can do and will we able to do now are just very new and unexpected or a lot of people, so it has their imaginations - and their fears - all fired up. Yes, we’re going to see an influx of new products and tools based on these new AI models, but people will get used to them as they begin using them and understanding what they really are.
People will get over it and move on.
ooo, first to answer!
Ok, I’m a Democratic Socialist. While I strongly support the power and rights of the worker, a system of equality and equity for all people, and everything else that comes with socialism after growing simply disgusted with capitalism and how it exploits people, societies, and everything it can, I strongly support Democracy and a balanced and responsible freedom of the individual.
has anyone here played it? how’s the performance?
I use Apollo exclusively because i hate the website and the official reddit app. If they really do price out 3rd-party developers and apps like Apollo vanish, then I’ll be leaving reddit. That’s why I’m here. I’m looking for a new home :(
Wonderful news! Happy Pride, Japan! 🏳️🌈
While I typically agree with this use practice, Reddit was an exception— if for no other reason that 1. Their site was a nightmare to use and 2. The Apollo app stripped all of the awful bs from the site and only served up the content. If i could have used Apollo on my desktop, i would have.
RIP is right… :’(
I use Reddit solely via the Apollo app, as the website and official app suck terribly. The fat that Reddit is trying to kill off 3rd-party apps is part of the reason I’m here— if they do, I’m leaving Reddit, as i refuse to use the website or their official app.
so that makes them “woke” somehow? lmao
