God it is so annoying how bloated Google feels these days - it’s becoming more and more frequent for me just to use Bing because it actually gives me what I’m asking for rather than burying it in everything “similar” to it

Bing is not better. That’s how sad it all is.

Exactly, it isn’t even better, it just actually does what you ask. That’s how low the bar is

Yeah. I use Bing now. And edge. Because when I setup my new PC I couldn’t be arsed to change it. Bing sucks, it’s just that Google now sucks just as much.

Why not Firefox? That plus uBlock Origin = pleasant browsing.

Search Engine wise - I use a mixture depending on what kind of thing I’m after. Need to try out SearxNG though.

I should. I use FF on my phone. It’s just laziness and inertia at this point. I am surprised how usable Edge is compared to how people rag on it.

People around here rag on it because it’s Chrome with AI baggage. Anyone ragging on it for not working probably hasn’t used it since it was using Microsoft’s khtml or they’re conflating it with IE.

I actually recommend floorp browser. It’s a Firefox, fork and it has a lot of the features of edge (but better) like the option to use edge’s fluent design theme, the sidebar, where any website and select extensions can be added in a mobile format, and a fully customisable vertical tab layout, with tons of other options for tabs.

Does Floorp update when Firefox updates or does it require the Floorp devs to build in the FF updates?

Floorp is based on Firefox ESR. Floorp will be updated every 4 weeks, with security updates provided before each Firefox release.

I’ve changed over to DuckDuckGo completely now. Rarely use Google, only if it’s something DDG can’t find for whatever reason (usually local Irish stuff).
