I’m literally talking from an international perspective… The complete opposite of myopic. I support teams across the globe and mandarin and English are the two languages to learn to ‘integrate into society’ depending on which side of the world you’re on. And even in SE Asia, English dominates and individuals are fine working with translators if needed - Francophiles on the other hand have been the absolute worst to deal with and refuse to use a translator or uptake English for discussions (when they speak it) when dealing with others from all over the globe (where English isn’t the native language for others too)
