All but one cut. Plugs left behind. Station hasn’t even opened.

Shame they couldn’t leave a few hundred volts live on the wires when not connected to a car for charging. That would cut down on thefts.

Charging stations need to be given the same respect and investment that gas stations get, or this shit will continue to happen. They don’t even get a canopy let alone any sort of security…

Meth heads scavenge copper wire to sell to recycling plants.

Those are DC fast chargers right? So they would have thick copper cables too. Probably a lot of bang for your buck if you’re trying to steal copper.

Yes. What’s silly is that these thieves get caught unless they have a fence at the recycling center. I used to work at a machine shop and every time they stole copper from our yard, we’d get a call from the recycling plant, we’d get the copper back, and the thieves would go to jail. But they’d be back in the yard a few weeks later.

They have cameras in these stations. Whoever did this will get caught. It may take time, but ‘owning Elon’ or the ‘woke EV greenies’ is going to fuck their life up.

The police don’t actually do investigations, like you see on TV. They’ll file a report, put whatever evidence they have in the report, and move on with their day. Being on video doesn’t mean anything when the cops don’t pursue an investigation.

Given this is near Seattle and they took the cables (but left the plugs), this was 100% a copper “salvaging” operation.

A fast way to make a couple grand… a slightly slower way to throw a portion of your life away in jail.

        Best of luck to them…
