Hello,

For my first post here on lemmy I wanted to share a small side-project I speed-coded last night.

I created a simple webapp powered by blazingly fast tools to have a searchable version of the mega chess index.

Features :

  • auto scrap the mega chess index file
  • instant search while typing

I’d love to have your feedback on this small side project.

~~I might open-source the project if people are interested and want to be able to self-host it ~~

EDIT : I’ve open sourced it. I don’t plan to host it but if someone wants to host it for the community, it would be nice.

Thanks for your Good will! To get it running you have to download around 800 MB of different open projects and read a lot of manuals. In my view it is perfect for computer science students but not for the usual chess player…

yeah you’re right. It’s not really meant to be hosted by everyone but to be hosted by someone for everyone to use it. If I could host it I would have done it but as I cannot I just share it so maybe someone will or at least get inspired

Well, it certainly looks useful! And open-source is always nice. I hope you release it.
