They’re not wrong though. Have had a few devices over the years that had a dead pixel or a few for one reason or another. Some very much do fix themselves over time.

For phones and tablets using Android, there’s actually apps that you can use that flash the screen red, green and blue rapidly in an effort to fix the pixel(s), though I’m unsure if a similar app exists in Linux.
