My dummy frugal self bought a used 64gb steam deck with a 1tb upgrade. It keeps crashing!!! At first it was just cyber punk now it’s ANYTHING I play even my friend Pedro and postal 2 which aren’t very demanding games. This can’t be the intended result??? I’m honestly just sad I probably got burned thinking I got a good deal. Additionally my vram is only showing 4gb total although I changed my VRAM to 4gb. My 3DS was running better and I’ve had that for YEARS. I don’t understand how a 3 month old deck can’t keep up with:/

Others can chime in but you may want to reset and fully reinstall SteamOS. The other thing is - do you which brand and model 1TB NVME is installed? If it’s a really poor quality one, it could cause issues

Looks like you might have the 200/1040 GPU bug. In your screenshot your GPU is setting at 1040, if it bounces between 200 and 1040 in that overlay, that would be the issue.

You can try manually setting the GPU clock speed in the QAM (… Button). This has helped some, but doesn’t always fix the issue for everyone. To fully resolve it you will have to wait for Valve to release a fix.
