Hi guys,

I just got my new Steam Deck OLED 512GB yesterday and I swapped SSD with my original SD LCD, because I had there 1TB Corsair SSD.

I just noticed that changing color temperature is not working at all.
I can change color vibrance, but not temperature…

My situation:

  • I had SteamOS 3.5.7 on both Steam Decks when performing SSD swap.
  • I know that on original SD LCD I was able to change color temperature both before and after SSD swap, but I did not tinker with SD OLED before SSD swap.
  • I tried to change Stable channel to both Beta and Preview, without results.
  • I also checked Developer option “Disable Color Management” and it was disabled by default, I tried to enable/disable it and still only vibrance can be changed with this option disabled (nothing when it’s enabled, which is working as intended).

Any idea what else can I try? I want to avoid factory reset as I already have installed cryoutilities and decky loader with my preferred plugins. (I could not change color temperature even before having any of this installed)

Thanks for any help, at least I have no dead pixels :)

This is why you test your new unit the way it shipped before changing out the SSD. You wind up in a place where you don’t know if it worked and likely never will if it doesn’t work when you inevitably swap it back.
