I am trying, right now at least, to get battlenet on the steam deck. I found this article explaining 2 methods https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/how-to-install-battlenet-on-steam-deck
The articles seems recent enough but I wanted to ask the community as well. The article explains 2 methods, 1 downloading just the launcher and doing some hijinks to add it to steam, to launch both through desktop mode and gaming mode. The other method is downloading Lutris and following through with that. I am new to Linux systems, as in steam deck new, so I don’t have much experience with Lutris.
So my questions are;
- Which would be the better method to use?
- Would either method have repercussions?
- I was also considering possibly installing windows on a sd card to use as the other launcher installation location, is that a better idea?
- If so is there a reliable windows installation guide that I should follow ( I found this for this subject, is this acceptable https://www.xda-developers.com/how-install-windows-steam-deck/ ? )
Thanks in advance!!
3rd method… this does just the first method automatically for you https://github.com/moraroy/NonSteamLaunchers-On-Steam-Deck
Just add the setup exe as a non Steam game, run with proton, then add the installed exe as a non Steam game.
