Hello all,

I recently ordered a limited edition steam deck OLED to replace my old one. I was super excited until I realized that despite the address I gave to steam being correct and the address on my package being correct, my parcel was wrongfully “delivered” 30 minutes away from my house by UPS. I messaged Valve the situation with a screenshot of the ups website confirming the package had been delivered to the wrong house with a photo (said photo was of a bag as it was raining so you couldn’t physically see the device.)

This sent me on a wild goose chase to meet the police at the address to reclaim the item. The police met me and confirmed with the homeowner and driver that my deck - though marked delivered - was actually never delivered and was somewhere in the ether of UPS in my state. I had to go down to the distribution center in a rough part of town and even they were baffled and could not figure out what happened. Long story short I got the number for the local manager who eventually said he would try to sort it out.

Valve then responds that they would send me a replacement for my steam deck as the mishap was not my fault and confirmed by the photo and tracking as having been delivered completely incorrectly. they mention I would get an email in the next days with tracking for a replacement limited edition deck.

Here’s where it gets odd. the next day the original steam deck somehow does make its way to my house and the tracking is updated to reflect this now proper delivery. I have since activated and use this deck.

A few days later - the SECOND deck shows up from valve.

My initial thought was to give the second one to my nephew who so much so deserves it, but I was worried that now my deck would be flagged as stolen somehow or that valve would somehow need the other back.

again, I had no idea I would receive mine when I made the initial complaint and at the time I wrote to them my deck was genuinely lost.

Would you guys message valve about this or just stop worrying and give to my nephew?

TLDR; Valve replaced my lost in mail steam deck with another, only for the first to show up anyways. should I give the extra deck to my nephew or message valve?

Similar thing happened to me. Short version is I bought the 256GB deck for my husband only to disappoint him by not getting the 512GB version, so I contacted support to upgrade or cancel before it got shipped out. They refunded it, I purchased the big boy, and both decks ended up getting shipped and delivered, with no record of the first purchase/refund on my account even after contacting support, and I guess it would have been more trouble than it would have been worth for them to get it returned, so we got lucky and now husband and I have a pair of his-and-hers Steam Decks for the price of one.
