What games did you buy this autumn sale?
After a six pack on thanksgiving I picked up Assassins Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 3 and Black Flag. Working my way through 1 as we speak.
Thank you for reminding me to buy these
Gamersgate had revelations, 3 and 4 a little cheaper with code “UBIHARD” lol.
How does it play?
Control and Witcher 3. I’ve already started both!
Control was surprisingly good. I went in to it with completely blind.
Double Dragon
Found out after purchasing that it’s local co-op only. No online co-op. Bummer.Maybe you can play it online with steam remote play ?
Very underutilized feature by people. It works pretty damn well if you’re host doesn’t have shit internet
Monster hunter : Rise, I don’t know, just didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. I was looking for something like hack n slash RPG like God of War but the whole “anime-like” genre isn’t for me.
I am not into anime at all, nor am I into the anime/anime-like games. They just don’t do it for me. However, monster hunter is well worth a go, and both World and Rise are very much westernised in terms of gameplay.
That being said, the monster hunter games are not known for being easy (although I’d say Rise is the easiest to get into, as well as in terms of difficulty). They’re pretty much the original Souls games and share more similarities with those than any God of War title. All about rewarding boss battles where you visibly weaken the monsters as the fight goes on. The monsters are hard hitting, requiring well timed dodges, and the gameplay loop is addictive.
The MH games are known for being slow starters but I’d urge you to stick it out. You’ll eventually get to a wall (almost insurmountable monster) but once you learn how to adapt and overcome it, there’s a good chance you’ll be hooked.
They’re one of the few games where it’s more your skill that improves, as opposed to your character just levelling up and the game becoming easy.
That said, if you want an in-depth story, you’re unlikely to find one since they’re hardly the focus.
Dave the Diver
Worldless
Celeste
One of the most satisfying 2d platformer to control. The movement, dash, and even hit box for obstacles is just so fine tuned. I would argue it has a smoother, more better control than Super Meatboy.
I’ve been playing celeste for a good while now… lots of breaks else rage but it’s pretty solid
This is my favorite game of all time. Such a touching story, tied to a great gameplay and an inspiring soundtrack. This game really is a gem and I can’t recommend it enough to gamers
I bought the wolfenstein alt history collection however ive become side tracked by No More Heroes. Its my favorite wii game that got ported over to pc.
Witcher 3 and Jedi Fallen Order
Rollerdrome. It’s dope.
Bought Hades, love it so far!
Thinking about buying Outer Wilds, but a little uncertain due to mixed reviews online
Crosscode, which in my opinon is the greatest indie game ever made; is currently on sale for 8 bucks. And it’s DLC, which adds 10-12 more hours of gameplay; is on sale for 4 bucks.
This is the only game I will never not recommend when given the opportunity to. And I usually really hate imposing my opinions on other people. But it’s just that good.
It’s basically a 16-bit ARPG MMO-style single player game (kinda confusing, I know).
I know a lot of people are more than tired of 16-bit indies by now, but this one is a must-play for all JRPG enthusiasts.
You sold me on Crosscode, looks really cool
:) Awesome! There’s a demo you can try first if you’re still iffy on it! Although I feel like the demo doesn’t well represent the game as it’s just the first hour or so. But it’ll give you a small feel of the combat system and etc.!
Sigh, back to the steam store I go!
I bought the 512gb lcd deck and a few games that I look forward to playing on the deck that my laptop can’t keep up with (forza 4, hotwheels unleashed).
Hell let loose. Playing Dave the Diver. Honestly, I bought more games for my kids for their new laptops than I did myself.
Had some Steam gift cards burning a hole in my wallet. I got:
- Cult of the Lamb
- Firewatch
- Halo MCC
- Wolfenstein Alt History Collection
- Hollow Knight
- Sleeping Dogs
I’ve already started Cult of the Lamb, Firewatch and Hollow Knight. Bouncing around until one of them grabs me
Gonna buy A fishermans tale. A VR game, not related to sd
