The title basically. I got the RE4 remake and it runs fine for the most part, but only on the lowest settings and dips at times, especially when using scoped weapons.

I think if a game is to be “verified” it would be great to know how to best enjoy the game so I don’t have to experiment with settings for 20 minutes before actually playing a game. Cause otherwise I feel like most verified titles should just be tagged playable.

Only game I’ve seen do something like this is Cyberpunk. That game has a steam deck preset which sets all of the settings up, which made it so much more enjoyable to know I was getting a great blend of quality and performance

After playing Starfield on the deck for awhile (it’s definitely playable with the right settings!) I was blown away by how well Cyberpunk 2077 looks and runs on the Deck. The fact that it has a graphics setting CALLED Steam Deck was icing on the cake.

What RE4 settings did you settle on? I bought it and my OLED is out for delivery.

Also what’s this proton? Isn’t that the backend application in the deck that helps it run games?

I don’t think it is a good idea because it makes it dependent on the developer, and I bet most won’t do it. In the end we would end up with a bunch of games that are not verified but otherwise could run great and you would never know unless you tried.

That said, there could be a seal or something stating that the game has official settings recommendations.

Funnily enough, I actually despise the steamdeck preset settings in cyberpunk lol

Their preset doesn’t even give a stable 30, last time I used it.

The best settings I’ve used so far for Cyberpunk were from a youtube channel called Pixel deck.

The same thing could be said for playable games. I feel limited to the controls in tf2 wish I can take some of the commands from the settings to the deck but it seems I have to use the keys from the keyboard for it to work. But it’s going to be a bit hard for me since I know minimal of a few things

A community preset like they do controls would be dope. Even if it’s just a text layout of what settings to pick and how many people use it

Yeah I’d love that as an option still have include the deck quick access settings, then the text for in game config stuff, it’d do wonders for everyone trying to set it up
