Help! Created new account on lemmy.ca, and can’t log in.

I created an account, set a password, and now when I try to use them, they don’t get me off the login page.

If I change either my username or password by a character, it clearly says ‘credentials are wrong,’ implying that my unmolested credentials are correct - but it won’t log me in.

I’ve tried different browsers, turned off uBlock Origin, but nothing helps.

Any advice?

did you try resetting your password? actually, on second thought, if you didn’t receive an e-mail confirmation, then you may not get the password reset e-mail. I can look into this more later tonight.

@smorks I figured it out. I’m an idiot.

I put in the wrong email address - one that may not even exist (and if it does exist, it’s not mine.)

I blame the fever I had this morning. Is there any way you can just trash the account and I can start again, or correct the email address?

@Rentlar I provided an email address, but never got a verification email. (and yes, I checked my spam folder.)

Could it possibly be the fact that my email address has “spam” in it?

(Aside: the fact that I can post here from Mastodon is frickin’ cool.)

Interesting. Well, see if @smorks can get you sorted, it could potentially be something email related on either end. Hope to see you more in this area of the Fediverse!
