I had a hum probably stemming from resonance from an industrial machine close by, keeping me awake at night. It was horrible. I moved out of that place as quickly as I could.

On the same note, anyone ever heard the trumpets in the sky? Years ago, me and my partner were very baffled (and spooked, may I add) for these extremely loud, trumpet like, sounds coming from the sky.

Never happened again, but I have the sensation imprinted in my brain.

Could it have been a turboprop plane? They vaguely sound like distant brass if heard from miles away/below.

Source: I live 50km away from a tiny regional airport exclusively operated by Dadh-8

      EDIT: Dash-8. Dpelling is hadrd

Sorry, my Lemmy client still has issues with push notifications and I just noticed you replied.

No planes. It was quite stormy and no flights were allowed, I remember that very well. Pretty sure it was some kind of weird vibration somewhere due to the heavy winds, but the sound was literally coming from everywhere in the sky and the effect was extremely spooky.

I used to live in a very windy place where the wind would play the bridge and street lighting like you would play a bottle. It’s a result of pipes that are hollow at the top, and the wind hits just right
