Hey all, figured I’d ask here. I was looking for things to do with a Raspberry Pi, that was fairly specific to the Pi itself. Most examples are software and projects that can be done or hosted on pretty much any other hardware. Ironically, I couldn’t find anything that would make sense to run on a Pi or use it as a tool with existing infrastructure.

I already run a Kubernetes cluster, have a NAS, etc. and am not limited on hardware whatsoever. But intrigued by any cool things that may be unique to the Pi itself or if anyone else prefers to use it for some specific use case.

What do you all think?

There’s mt32-pi, a baremetal app that emulates the classic MT-32 MIDI synthesizer.

For better or worse, the Pi (2+) seems to be the only SBC with a video output that can do 240P or other funky CRT resolutions (the DPI interface on the GPIO).

Why ask selfhosted? It is exactly where you will not get Pi specific suggestions, but rather arm64 suggestions. Just as you said, you want to stay fairly specific to the Pi itself. So, look up some Pi specific projects.
