@mike@coys@spurs The cherry on the cake is how little he cost. Most fans were howling for the £40m Raya and when Levy instead got Vic for £17m, we thought he’d done his classic penny-pincher move. But it turned out Ange wanted Vic over Raya after talking to them both. Vic passionately wanted Spurs whereas Raya just wanted out of Brentford. Ange hires for attitude and character as much as raw talent. He’s obviously quite a good judge!

What I see NOW is extraordinary shot-stopping, superb control of the area, outstanding sweeping, comfort in possession, occasional magical long passes and even the odd goal! But I didn’t know any of that about him when he signed. (I’m glad we have people for that!)
